The <Amused to Death > Day Z standalone server is here!

We've been playing the Day Z standalone a bit (some from the guild) and it's been good fun at times - it's a bit buggy as it's still in Alpha but it's good fun all the same. I purchased a server for Day Z Standalone Alpha - details on it below.

The server port is 173.199.79.101 - if you cannot find it that way, access the server filter and Type in 'Amused' and you should find the server, the full server name is " Amused to Death | Don't get Rekt - Loot and Kill! Regular 114557 " (without quote marks obviously).

For those of you who do not know what Day Z is, it's best you check out http://forums.dayzgame.com/. Basically it's a Zombie Survival game with full on PvP. Loot food, drinks, weapons and many other items to help you survive - Keep in mind it is still in Alpha so it is buggy but they update constantly.

Right now, until we establish a decent reoccurring player base, we don't have any Teamspeak/Mumble server dedicated to the Day Z server - I plan on activating it sometime when the reoccurring player base is more stable.. It's certainly getting to be that way now though.
Now that we're on our new site, people will be encouraged to sign up and communicate through this DayZ forum with any luck. It would be great to have the servers reoccurring players communicating on this site.

Ideally it would be nice to know who is who when we're online. We are starting to get a steady player base, some are from Defias and some are from WoW in general who join through recognizing the guild name (apparently).
If you found this server by accident and play World of Warcraft, maybe add something in your name to indicate who you are in-game (Such as, all Amused to Death members have changed their names to show we're in the guild, for example my name is "<A2D>Relis"). If you are a Defias Brotherhood player, even writing <Defias> in the name would be enough if not a guild abbreviation or something.

To change your name, you click your character name on the bottom right of the login screen and type your new one there. It wasn't blatantly obvious to most but yeah, it's simple and easy enough.

But also, if you buy now, when the game goes live, you won't pay for £40 or whatever it is when released.
It's a nice motivation to get the game cheaper and contribute to the end product because as far as i know, Dean 'Rocket' Hall is very open to nice ideas and suggestions if he thinks it could work.. and obviously it saves you shelling out potentially another extra £20 on top of what you would pay for the early Alpha.
